A quick recap… was guided to live in California; on faith sold my house and almost all my possessions; worked my tail off for 6 months and jumped through a million loops; finally got my visa on Feb 24th; flew to my new home today.

So the day started out at the airport saying a tearful goodbye to both my parents (who have both been AMAZING and so supportive and helpful throughout this process.) I flew to the John Wayne airport via Las Vegas (which I thought was fitting for my Hollywood entrance. Ha ha!). Got totally sick on both flights and thought I was going to die and just bawled my head off on the 2nd flight. All the doubts and fears (monsters) came raging at full blast. I really thought I was out of mind for leaving everything I knew. But deep down I knew I just needed to release it.

My friend Melanie picked me up, we got me a car rental and went to my apartment in Huntington Beach (which BTW I have never been to that city nor saw the place in person before today… went on intuition and faith). I thought it was okay and still felt scared about being in an empty apartment all alone. As a side note, I can’t even imagine how terrifying it must be for people who move to countries whose cultures and languages are completely different and don’t know anyone.

Melanie and I went to buy some basic house stuff (like pots/pans, toilet paper, etc…) and then she went off to work. Now here is where things turned around. I was originally going to go to one store for food but had a gut feeling to go to another supermarket. Well when I got there, I noticed a furniture store… unfortunately going out of business and selling everything at 50-80% off.

Before I go on… Since I had sold all my stuff 5 months ago, I have been sleeping on an air mattress and really suffering physically. I had set my intention to have a nice plush comfy bed for my 1st night but had to ‘let go’ of the idea as I couldn’t match model numbers and pre order (for some odd reason the same mattress in Canada & the US are labeled differently).

Okay so I decided to do a quick look in the store. Next thing you know for $1000 I got my plush mattress/box spring, a solid wood table and the most comfortable couch in the world (it would have cost me $3000 or more for the same quality). All the brand new. As a side note…. my start up budget was $1000 but I had only expected to be able to get a mattress and TV with that. So I am pretty thrilled. Now I need to manifest a super inexpensive TV so I don’t go too much over budget.

Anyways, even more amazing… I get to sleep in a real bed tonight. Yes, 30 minutes after making the purchase, the guys were at my door setting it all up. Yahoo!

Oh and amazingly all my glassware and china arrived safely from Canada - not one piece broken!

I feel so happy. I feel like the universe is giving my hugs for taking the risk.

Tomorrow… get SS number, TV and more basic household stuff.
