Here’s how I learned this KEY to the law of attraction
I recently found this picture of me from 12 years ago and it got me reflecting on what happens when your personal will is out of sync with your divine will and how important it is for them to be in harmony for Law of Attraction to bring you your desire. You see, if I knew what was about to happen to me, I may not have been so smiley…
Once a upon a time there was a young woman named Princess Cindy who yearned for her prince charming who would love her unconditionally. At age 21 she thought her dream came true when she met a man we will call John.
A month after dating, Cindy’s divine self showed her a vision that she should leave this man now or else it would be a painful road. Her mind said “But he is so wonderful, charming, attentive…” and decided to ignore the inner nudges of her soul that KNEW what was in her best and highest good. She let her personal will take over. It was her ego just loving the attention and validation she so longed for and therefore ignored her spirit’s warnings.
Eight months later they attended a wedding together at which Cindy was also a guest singer. Time came for the bouquet toss and of course Cindy eagerly jumped right in the front of the pack.
1-2-3 and off … the bouquet came flying right into Cindy’s hand when suddenly a giant Amazon woman dove into her, snatched the flowers and then slipped. The bouquet smashed into pieces as it hit the ground followed by the Amazon woman jerking back up, only to elbow Cindy between the nose and jaw.
Well, Princess Cindy now had a broken nose, bruised jaw, bleeding gums and a concussion. LOL. Instead of recognizing that this incident was a glaring sign that she was out of sync with her intention, she went on to marry him three years later and then divorce shortly after.
The lesson: The universe had told me that I was out of alignment and that I should not proceed on this path with “John” by literally socking me in the face to tell me. I let my personal will, that was driven from the ego place of needing to be loved, to take over and march forward to marry him anyways.
If your personal will and divine will are out of sync, you will attract a ‘wake up call’ or a series of them to tell you. My intention was unconditional love. I had to find it in myself before I could attract a man who could give it to me. The universe gave me signs, but I didn’t listen for years.
So what is divine will? It is your soul, that pure authentic part of you that KNOWS what is in your best and highest good. When we listen intently to it, life flows with far greater grace.
What is personal will? It is the conscious decisions we make from our minds and take action on. Often it comes from ego as opposed to listening to the divine self and taking action on that. When we set an intention, if it is out of sync with our divine will, we will get signs from the universe telling us. At first they are gentle nudges, and if we do not listen and keep letting our ego lead, then the signs get bigger as they did with me.
The solution
Learn to decipher when you are taking action from your ego or from your true self. Plain and simple – you need awareness. Take time every day to slow down and get present. Reconnect with YOU.

Thanks, Cindy. You’re right on. I, too, married a man I knew I shouldn’t marry … and paid the price. God is ALWAYS trying to get our attention. Call it intuition, a sixth sense, a ‘knowing’. That’s Spirit nudging us to pay attention. When we listen, amazing things happen. When we don’t, life may go on, but we’ve probably missed an opportunity to receive or give blessing.
