Una Voce Poco Fa … with a Wardrobe Malfunction!

Here I am singing “Una Voce Poco Fa” from the Barber of Seville at my “Red Carpet Dreaming” Fundraiser for the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness in Toronto, Canada on May 27th, 2011.

For a little laugh, check out the wardrobe malfunction at 42 seconds. Oops!

So if you have been following my work for a bit, you are probably thinking… “She sings Opera?” – yup! For years I trained towards my operatic performance diploma and even sang solo with the Downsview Symphony. Since this was my first performance in my hometown in a bit, I decided to pay homage to my roots. It was soooo fun.

Let me know if you like this side of me… maybe I will throw in a Carmen at my next show!

Okay here it is:

Celebrate Your Freedom…the flash mob!

Guess what? We are doing a flash mob of my song “Celebrate Your Freedom” on May 7th at the Toronto Entrepreneurs Conference at the International Centre (6900 Airport Rd, Mississauga, On).

This uplifting song was written by myself and Kathleen Gorman and produced by Mark Alexander in 2008 to promote my book, Kiss Your Monsters Goodbye!

If you are planning on attending the flash mob and want to get to know the song or if you want to be uplifted, then enjoy the video:

Bachelor Charity Auction – Global TV clip

I flew in to Toronto last week to be one of the Bachelorette’s in a Charity Auction, benefiting one of our partner charities on the Red Carpet Dreaming Tour – The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness (CCAA).

The CCAA do amazing work at raising awareness about the true cost of neglect and abuse. They support over 130 organizations across Canada, including children’s services, victims’ services, shelters and other agencies that deal with over 200,000 children, women and men whose lives have been affected by abuse.

The event was held on Thursday, Feb 3rd at the prestigious Capitol Event Theatre in Toronto, On, Canada.

Global News featured the event. Scroll to 11:45 to see the recaps. I am in blue. You can see me raising my arms and then I am in the background later in the clip. Enjoy!

It was totally amazing – the food, the music, decor, the crowd… and of  course all the bachelors and bachelorettes looked sensational.  But mostly… piles of money was raised. The final numbers are not in yet but at LEAST $25 000 was raised. YAHOO!

Some of the featured bachelors included Pro baseball player Drew Taylor, Olympian Nicole Forrester, Champion Boxer Fitzroy Vanderpool and Miss Universe Canada Elena Semikina. All 4 were very gracious and humble. Gotta love it! Now THAT is true super stardom… living your greatness and yet staying human. WHOOT!

My dream date package included a week vacation with Ultimate Living,  anywhere in the world; a dinner for 10 at Tappo Wine Bar and Restaurant in Toronto on May 25th with a private performance from me follow a giant blow out party (and yes YOU can come) and a VIP ticket to our big Red Carpet Fundraiser Show on May 29th in Toronto where I will sing to him on stage in front of 500 people, live streamed across the world! The package and I were auctioned off for $1200… all of which went directly to the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness.

And of course when it was my turn to be auctioned off, I came out singing “Big Spender!” Had a blast working that catwalk

Such a great event! So honored I got to be part of it.
